Voces Intimae | voices of the North

Our growing presence in France meant that we started our tour with the programme Voces Intimae – voices of the North as “Quatuor Ragazze” in Metz. In the beautiful Salle de l’Esplanade in the Arsenal, we were warmly welcomed by an attentive audience: a great start!

The programme is based on Jean Sibelius’ intimate string quartet Voces Intimae, a work full of melancholy, reflection and inner peace with many references to the folk music tradition. The programme also includes folk melodies from Scandinavia, greatly arranged by the Danish String Quartet. We play various arrangements of Danish folk music for string quartet from their album Last Leaf. We used the work Shore from this album for the trailer (above).
