About September Me
At this year’s September Me music festival, women are put in the spotlight. With the title September Me (she/her), we’re giving the festival a feminine twist: featuring female musicians and performers on stage, alongside work by many female creators. From 24 to 27 September, with a festival appetiser on Wednesday evening, 23 September, in collaboration with Holland Opera, you can be swept away by a mix of national, international and Amersfoort talent in a high-profile four-day programme across multiple venues in the city.
The Ragazze Quartet will also be performing at September Me. See the Ragazze Quartet’s concert schedule for September Me at the bottom of the page.
Ayanna Witter-Johnson
The British-Jamaican singer, songwriter, pianist, cellist and composer Ayanna Witter-Johnson is the festival’s artist-in-focus.
Ayanna is a groundbreaking, versatile artist who brings together cello, voice and identity in a single powerful performance. She plays her cello as a melodic instrument, a drum kit and a dance partner, moving effortlessly between classical, jazz, soul and reggae. At September Me, she will perform material from her album Ocean Floor, featuring music she developed in collaboration with the London Symphony Orchestra Percussion Ensemble.
